 At Ayla Creations, we specialize in bespoke costume production, delivering tailor-made packages designed to meet the unique needs of our clients. Since 2023, we’ve proudly partnered with the esteemed Ebony Steelband Trust, contributing to the dynamic success of the Ebony Mas Band.

This year, we were honoured to produce the Indigenous costume collection for Ebony Mas—bringing creativity, culture, and craftsmanship to the road.

Meet Makayla Questel-Frederick, a young and dynamic designer. Makayla's journey into the world of carnival began at the tender age of 3, when she first adorned herself in the captivating costumes of Trinidad's Carnival. Since then, her passion for masquerading has flourished, leading her to over a decade of immersive experience as a Carnival queen, earning numerous prestigious titles from the National Carnival Commission (NCC).

In August 2023, Makayla made her dazzling debut at Notting Hill Carnival in partnership with Ebony Mas, captivating audiences with her innovative designs and infectious energy. As the founder of Ayla Creations, she channels her profound love for fashion into each meticulously crafted costume, infusing them with the rich tapestry of Caribbean Culture.

Driven by her unwavering dedication to preserving and celebrating the essence of Caribbean carnival, Makayla is committed to pushing boundaries and exploring new avenues for creative expression. 

With her boundless enthusiasm and unparalleled expertise, she is poised to make an indelible mark on the world stage, further enriching the vibrant mosaic of Caribbean culture.
